Greensleeves 是一首十六世紀開始流傳於英格蘭民間的旋律和歌謠，作者始終不詳，是英國傳唱數百年、歷久不衰的神秘歌謠，也是少數幾首廣為世人喜愛的英國民謠。Greensleeves 的歌詞版本很多，大致都以隱喻歡場女子的 Greensleeves 為主軸，英國坊間傳言此曲出自英王亨利八世，姑且聽之，不必全信。


國王歌手 (King's Singer) 成立於 1968 年，團員始終維持六人，聲音結構上，有一位男高音 (tenor)、兩位高音男中音 (countertenor)、兩位男中音 (baritone)、一位男低音 (bass)，無樂器伴奏的純清唱模式是他們的特色。這個清唱版本，是該團體 2008 年夏天在倫敦 The BBC Proms 的現場演出版本。
