1956 Love Me Tender
Elvis Presley

Love me tender, love me sweet, never let me go,
You have made my life complete and I love you so.
Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled,
For my darling, I love you and I always will.

Love me tender, love me long, take me to your heart.
For it's there that I belong and we'll never part.
Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled,
For my darling, I love you and I always will.

Love me tender, love me dear, tell me you are mine,
I'll be yours through all the years till the end of time.
Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled,
For my darling, I love you and I always will.

Gilbert O'Sullivan:

In a little while from now,

If I'm not feeling any less sour.

I promised myself, to treat myself,

And visit a nearby tower ..........

And climbing to the top,

Would throw myself off,

In an effort to, make clear to whoever,

What it's like when your shattered .......

Left standing in a lurch,

In a church with people saying .....

My God, that's tough, she stood him up,

No point in us remaining .......

I may as well go home,

As I did on my own,

Alone again, naturally.

To think that only yesterday,

I was cheerful, bright and gay.

Looking forward to, and who wouldn do,

The role I was about to play.

But as if to knock me down,

Reality came around,

And without so much as a mere touch,

Cut me into little pieces.

Leaving me to doubt, all about God and His mercy,

Oh, if He really does exist,

Why did He desert me?

And in my hour of need,

I truely am, indeed,

Alone again, naturally.

It seems to me that there are more hearts,

Broken in the world that can be mended,

Left unattended, what do we do?

What do we do?

Now looking back over the years,

And whatever else that appears.

I remember I cried when my father died,

Never wishing to hide the tears.

At sixty-five years old,

My mother, God rest her soul,

Couldn understand why the only man,

She had ever loved had been taken.

Leaving her to start, with a heart so badly broken,

Despite encouragement from me,

No words were ever spoken.

And when she passed away,

I cried and cried all day,

Alone again, naturally .....

Alone again ................................. naturally.

1963 500 Miles Away from Home
Bobby Bare

I'm 500 miles away from home
Teardrops fell on mama's note
When I read the thing she wrote
She said, "We miss you son We love you, come on home"
Well I didn't have to pack
I had it all right on my back
Now I'm 500 miles away from home
Away from home, away from home
Cold and tired and all alone
Yes I'm 500 miles away from home
I know this is the same road I took the day I left home But it sure looks different now Well I guess I look different too
'Cause time changes everything I wonder what they'll say When they see their boy looking this way
Oh I wonder what they'll say when I get home
Can't remember when I ate
It's just thumb and walk and wait
And I'm still 500 miles away from home
If my luck had been just right
I'd be with them all tonight
But I'm still 500 miles away from home
Away from home, away from home Cold and tired and all alone
Yes I'm still 500 miles away from home
Oh I'm still 500 miles

Neil Diamond - Hello Again - The Very Best of Neil Diamond

Lyrics:

Hello again, hello
Just called to say 'hello'
I couldn't sleep at all tonight
And I know it's late
But I couldn't wait

Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
When I'm here alone
And you're there at home
Hello

Maybe it's been crazy
And maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been thru it all
And you loved me just the same
And when you're not there
I just need to hear

Hello, my friend, hello
It's good to need you so
It's good to love you like I do
And to feel this way
When I hear you say
Hello

Hello, my friend, hello
Just called to let you know
I think about you every night
And I know it's late
But I couldn't wait
Hello

Play Me -- Neil Diamond (in HD)
一位偉大的歌手,才華洋溢的詞曲作者,浪漫的詩人,值得尊敬的藝術家.

The human voice is the most important instrument at our disposal.
yet it is one of the most difficult to understand or define. You either hear it, or you don’t.
It either moves you, or it lives you cold.it is more that just a sound. it is the soul itself.
~~~~ Neil Diamond, 1974. ~~~~
Neil Leslie Diamond (born January 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter. As a successful pop music performer, Diamond scored a number of hits worldwide in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. According to David Wild, common themes in Diamond's songs are "a deep sense of isolation and an equal desire for connection. A yearning for home -- and at the same time, the allure of greater freedom. The good, the bad and the ugly about a crazy little thing called love."
As of 2001 Diamond has 115 million records sold worldwide,[2] including 48 million records in the U.S.[3] In terms of Billboard chart success, he is the third most successful Adult Contemporary artist ever, ranking behind only Barbra Streisand and Elton John.[2]
Though his record sales declined somewhat after the 1980s, Diamond continues to tour successfully, and maintains a very loyal following. Diamond's songs have been recorded by a vast array of performers from many different musical genres.
Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984, and in 2000 received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lyrics:
She was moring
And I was night time
I one day woke up
To find her lying
Beside my bed
I softly said
"Come take me"
For I've been lonely
In need of someone
As though I'd done
Someone wrong somewhere
I don't know where
Come lately
You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me
Song she sang to me
Song she brang to me
Words that rang in me
Rhyme that sprang from me
Warmed the night
And what was right
Became me
You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me
And so it was
That I came to travel
Upon a road
That was thorned and narrow
Another place
Another grace
Would save me
You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the word
I am the tune
Play me
Borderline -- Chris de Burgh
Chris de Burgh 英國詩人歌手 (父親英國人,母親愛爾蘭人)
Chris擁有極為良好的家世,年幼時即跟隨外交官父親遊歷許多不同的國家
加上本身研讀多國語言的教育背景,Chris的創作有人文社會,時事歷史甚至環保議題…等元素
他的曲子給的不只是音樂,是文學也是故事,總能適時帶給人們溫暖及鼓舞~
80~90年代我收藏他的每張唱片,是質感很高的音樂創作型歌手~{:4_199:}
選這則影音滿適合歌詞意境,不過歌詞為西班牙文(葡萄牙文?)
英文歌詞如附:
I'm standing in the station, I'm waiting for a train,
To take me to the border, And my loved one far away,
I watched a bunch of soldiers heading for the war,
I could hardly even bear to see them go,
Rolling through the countryside, tears are in my eyes,
We're coming to the borderline, I'm ready with my lies,
And in the early morning rain, I see her there,
And I know I'll have to say goodbye again,
And it's breaking my heart, I know what I must do,
I hear my country call me, but I want to be with you,
I'm taking my side, one of us will lose,
Don't let go, I want to know, that you will wait for me until the day,
There's no borderline, no borderline,
Walking past the border guards, Reaching for her hand,
Showing no emotion, I want to break into a run,
But these are only boys, and I will never know,
How men can see the wisdom in a war…
And it's breaking my heart, I know what I must do,
I hear my country call me, but I want to be with you,
I'm taking my side, one of us will lose,
Don't let go, I want to know, that you will wait for me until the day,
There's no borderline, no borderline…..
Stevie Wonder: Lately
這是一首旋律優美但很難隨之跟唱的歌曲,Stevie Wonder的唱工了得,聽他幽幽唱來,那份帶著哀怨,悲傷,失望又不甘心的情緒讓人掬起三分同情。有過女友劈腿經驗的人聽來大概很是心有戚戚焉~
Lyrics:Stevie Wonder Music:Stevie Wonder
Lately, I have had the strangest feeling
With no vivid reason here to find
Yet the thought of losing you've been hanging
'round my mind
Far more frequently you're wearing perfume
With you say no special place to go
But when I ask will you be coming back soon
You don't know, never know
Well, I'm a man of many wishes
Hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
'cause they always start to cry
'cause this time could mean goodbye
Lately I've been staring in the mirror
Very slowly picking me apart
Trying to tell myself I have no reason
with your heart
Just the other night while you were sleeping
I vaguely heard you whisper someone's name
But when I ask you of the thoughts you’re keeping
You just say nothing's changed
Well, I'm a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
'cause they always start to cry
'cause this time could mean goodbye, goodbye
Oh, I'm a man of many wishes
I hope my premonition misses
But what I really feel my eyes won't let me hide
'cause they always start to cry
'cause this time could mean goodbye
1956 Que Sera Sera
Doris Day
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother what will I be
Will I be pretty will I be rich
Here's what she said to me
Que Sera Sera
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Que Sera Sera
What will be will be
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said
Que Sera Sera
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Que Sera Sera
What will be will be
Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother what will I be
Will I be handsome will I be rich
I tell them tenderly
Que Sera Sera
Whatever will be will be
The future's not ours to see
Que Sera Sera
What will be will be
1960 Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
Brian Hyland
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was as nervous as she could be
She was afraid to come out of the locker
She was afraid that somebody would see
One, two, three, four, tell the people what she wore
It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the locker she wanted to stay
Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more
She was afraid to come out in the open
And so a blanket around she wore
She was afraid to come out in the open
And so she sat bundled up on the shore
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore
It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the blanket she wanted to stay
Two, three, four, stick around we'll tell you more
Now she is afraid to come out of the water
And I wonder what she's gonna do
Now she is afraid to come out of the water
And the poor little girl's turning blue
Two, three, four, tell the people what she wore
It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
An itsy, bitsy, teentie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
So in the water she wanted to stay
(From the locker to the blanket)
(From the blanket to the shore)
(From the shore to the water)
Yes, there isn't any more
ance dance on little girl
In the arms of someone new
As you dance as you twirl
My heart dances with you
Dance dance on little girl
Tell me what I've done wrong
Why should he hold you tight
While they're playing our song
I am watching you
Oh no no it cannot be
While I'm watching you
I'm wishing, hoping it's for me
Dance dance on little girl
Tell me why did we part
Dance dance on little girl
Dance out of my heart
I am watching you
Oh no no it cannot be
While I'm watching you
I'm wishing, hoping it's for me
Dance dance on little girl
Tell me why did we part
Dance dance on little girl
Dance out of my heart
Oh look at you
There you go go go
Oh yes you know
