There are quite a few taxes and costs which make the average car ( My car is Volvo XC70) uneconomical to bring in plus Hsan-Hsia has excellent buses transportation, so we are still pondering do we need a car in Taiwan.

You are correct 100%. Some make/models are not cost effective to bringing into Taiwan after one adds up all the fees and import duties. The issue depends on a lot of variable factors. My Honda S2000 is on the recommended "bringing-in" list because the rarity of the car. Honda ended the S2000 line in year 2009. This model is now much sought after.

$ v' m' a6 Z8 D' [8 y) A: ^We wait till settle down then purchased vechical in TW. In the very beginning, we all take public transportation between 北大 and other city.
