Some members were asking information about shipping his/her own car back to Taiwan from the US, I thought I start a new thread here for everyone to share their valuable info on the How-To, and Do-Don't.! {, g* Z  t" K

Here is my two-cents:6 G& Z! W; _1 W- h; _

- r( S, z1 a- W* f& [2 kOne important note, some shipper will not allow household items in the shipping container with your vehicle, I am waiting for a quote from 松福, they will allow household items in the container with the car, that saves a lot on shipping costs. I am shipping back two (2) Honda S2000s, I am the original owner on both cars.

1 |$ H; E) j/ U4 b! P( }1 XHere is a factory shot (borrowed from the HONDA website) of a S2000 CR I have.

在這裡不免要抱怨一下台灣的車商

人家歐美日所得是我們的好幾倍 車價卻比不上我們台灣 * g- }% t8 k5 G: ^  Q

9 z" l' m/ p' W) d9 [7 S3 O8 ]5 p台灣用進口關稅保護國產車 反而變成國產車賣進口價2 P; W& D* `1 r) P* N+ G9 ?9 l

  }$ D4 y3 t: B$ }5 t然後配備又不齊全 只能說在台灣買車就像是待宰的肥羊啊...

The fair market value of a low mileage (2008, 2,500 miles) all original, like-new S2000 CR (which is a collector's model, HONDA had the CR only in 2008) is estimated at NT1,800,000. (its US blue-book value is around US$30,000). There are other factors as well.

自Houston小型車運費要US$2,500, 還得加上關稅US$3,500和國內種種費用US$8,000, total cost is estimated at US$16,000 after factors in other possible variable costs.

My total cost, therefore, is estimated at US$46,000 on the road in Taiwan. There are other S2000 in Taiwan, so there will not be a lot problems in passing the ARTC 驗車. 6 }0 x4 C( E) s5 {
