Some members were asking information about shipping his/her own car back to Taiwan from the US, I thought I start a new thread here for everyone to share their valuable info on the How-To, and Do-Don't.- e* ~1 U+ o) @7 f$ L4 A* O

Here is a link: http://car2tw.com/ It is a commercial website, but I still post it because they do offer a lot of useful information, I personally did not pick them to ship my cars, yet.

Here is my two-cents:

One important note, some shipper will not allow household items in the shipping container with your vehicle, I am waiting for a quote from 松福, they will allow household items in the container with the car, that saves a lot on shipping costs. I am shipping back two (2) Honda S2000s, I am the original owner on both cars.

引進的款少就算了 價格又高得嚇死人

人家歐美日所得是我們的好幾倍 車價卻比不上我們台灣

台灣用進口關稅保護國產車 反而變成國產車賣進口價3 S' J7 D$ V- o( u9 d3 M
, D" F9 @+ M1 z0 t1 K
然後配備又不齊全 只能說在台灣買車就像是待宰的肥羊啊...

The fair market value of a low mileage (2008, 2,500 miles) all original, like-new S2000 CR (which is a collector's model, HONDA had the CR only in 2008) is estimated at NT1,800,000. (its US blue-book value is around US$30,000). There are other factors as well.! k' r6 J/ S/ T# T6 z& N

自Houston小型車運費要US$2,500, 還得加上關稅US$3,500和國內種種費用US$8,000, total cost is estimated at US$16,000 after factors in other possible variable costs.

! d3 G" t! I9 G4 F7 A5 {9 r$ EMy total cost, therefore, is estimated at US$46,000 on the road in Taiwan. There are other S2000 in Taiwan, so there will not be a lot problems in passing the ARTC 驗車. 0 ]; K9 _5 m; X

Total Production of the 2008 S2000 CR was limited, but those lucky enough to get one will join an exclusive club: The CR was available only in the U.S.
