, v9 j& a: G- X% V+ h- rSome members were asking information about shipping his/her own car back to Taiwan from the US, I thought I start a new thread here for everyone to share their valuable info on the How-To, and Do-Don't.

Here is my two-cents:

One important note, some shipper will not allow household items in the shipping container with your vehicle, I am waiting for a quote from 松福, they will allow household items in the container with the car, that saves a lot on shipping costs. I am shipping back two (2) Honda S2000s, I am the original owner on both cars.( ]3 }* `+ F' C

除了運費跟關稅外 據說比較麻煩的是ARTC驗車

在這裡不免要抱怨一下台灣的車商

, r! Q$ P' C4 N$ D人家歐美日所得是我們的好幾倍 車價卻比不上我們台灣

2 Q8 h9 `' \- {台灣用進口關稅保護國產車 反而變成國產車賣進口價
+ x5 P5 n, C7 b- q/ o/ D) n  d* R" L7 d
然後配備又不齊全 只能說在台灣買車就像是待宰的肥羊啊...

/ n9 G8 ~2 N5 E+ C6 f6 h, f. c, EThe fair market value of a low mileage (2008, 2,500 miles) all original, like-new S2000 CR (which is a collector's model, HONDA had the CR only in 2008) is estimated at NT1,800,000. (its US blue-book value is around US$30,000). There are other factors as well.

自Houston小型車運費要US$2,500, 還得加上關稅US$3,500和國內種種費用US$8,000, total cost is estimated at US$16,000 after factors in other possible variable costs.# B2 u' \. l  Y" ~9 g1 w! P

My total cost, therefore, is estimated at US$46,000 on the road in Taiwan. There are other S2000 in Taiwan, so there will not be a lot problems in passing the ARTC 驗車.

Total Production of the 2008 S2000 CR was limited, but those lucky enough to get one will join an exclusive club: The CR was available only in the U.S.
